ANIMAL FRIENDS OF THE VALLEYS SPAY/NEUTER AND VACCINATION CLINIC

Lake Elsinore location temporarily closed to the public

WILDOMAR, CA—Animal Friends of the Valleys (AFV) is leading the charge in stopping pet-over population and animal cruelty. The non-profit animal shelter which serves six (6) Southern California cities and rural county area is in the process of building a brand new spay/neuter and vaccination clinic next to the animal shelter on Mission Trail.  The expected completion is October/November 2023.  Recently the clinic veterinarian resigned, giving 3 weeks’ notice.  Since that time AFV has been diligently working on replacement options.  We are in contract negotiations with relief vets and veterinarian partners throughout the valley.  The priority will be to service the shelter pets and then open space to the public as availability increases.  More information will be posted on our website and social media pages as it becomes available.  In the meantime, if you would like to donate to the building of our new spay/neuter and vaccination clinic, please go to:  www.afv.org

Animal Friends of the Valleys is dedicated to promoting the humane care of animals through education and a pro-active rescue, health and emergency services program. We are committed to preventing the suffering of animals and to ending pet overpopulation in the six (6) Southern California communities we serve. Our vision is to be recognized as one of the leading shelters in the nation by providing a safe haven for animals and full-service animal care facility that offers quality, affordable care to all.

Save and Improve the Lives of Pets in Southern California Cities

$500,000 grant

Wildomar, CA (February 15, 2023) – Animal Friends of the Valleys is set to receive a $500,000 grant investment from national nonprofit Petco Love in support of their lifesaving work for animals in Southern California cities.

Petco Love is a national nonprofit leading change for pets by harnessing the power of love to make communities and pet families closer, stronger, and healthier. Since its founding in 1999, Petco Love has invested $330 million in adoption and other lifesaving efforts. Petco Love also helps find loving homes for pets in partnership with Petco and more than 4,000 organizations — like AFV — across North America, with 6.5 million pets adopted and counting.

“Our investment in Animal Friends of the Valleys is part of more than $15M in investments recently announced by Petco Love to power local organizations across the country as part of our commitment to create a future in which no pet is unnecessarily euthanized,” said Susanne Kogut, president of Petco Love. “Our local investments are only part of our strategy to empower animal lovers to drive lifesaving change right alongside us. We also launched Petco Love Lost, a national lost and found database that uses pet facial recognition technology to simplify the search for lost pets.”

“This generous grant from Petco Love towards our new low cost spay/neuter clinic will allow AFV to continue our mission of saving lives by reducing pet overpopulation,” said Mo Middleton, Executive Director of AFV.

AFV has broken ground on the new clinic which will serve shelter and community pets. We are encouraging support from all avenues, corporate, and local businesses along with thoughtful animal lovers. Please get in contact with Beth Soltysiak, Director of Development, by emailing beth@afv.org or calling (951) 676-0618 x 218.
